Bad news! If you love partaking in Charleston's delicious locally caught grouper, black sea bass, red porgy and/or red snapper, you're out of luck. As of January 1, 2010, the US Government closed fishing of these species for at least four to six months.
The New York Times posted a story yesterday on the plight of Charleston fisherman, Mark Marhefka. To read the story, click here--NYTimes.
Local fishermen are being forced to change their fishing habits like the tide. And, we, diners, will have to change our tastes.

Horses need exercise too!
A new year means a new exercise plan, right?
The Equestrian Center on Seabrook Island must believe its horses need exercise (could it be all those apples and carrots we fed the horses over the holidays??).
For the months of January and February 2010, two people can enjoy a trail ride on horseback for only $100.
Call Gwen at 843-768-7541 to make your Seabrook Island trail ride.
